Leaving Valencia, you’ll immediately join the V-21, which quickly feeds onto the A-7, setting you on the Mediterranean coast. This coastal artery will soon become the AP-7, a toll autoroute. Be prepared for toll sections through much of eastern Spain, a common feature of the Spanish motorway network. Keep an eye on your fuel gauge; while generally well-served, service areas can become sparser on certain AP-7 stretches approaching the French border. As you cross into France, the AP-7 transitions into the A 9, still a toll road, continuing its easterly sweep towards the Pyrenees. Town names switch language across the border

Contactless cards work at virtually every motorway pump
TipMajor brand stations (Shell, Total, BP, Repsol, Cepsa, OMV, Eni, Esso) take Visa and Mastercard contactless without an issue. American Express and Diners are spotty south of the Alps.
